WHAT’S IT
ALL ABOUT? The Festival
began as a celebration of the
opening of the Salmon fishing
season. Boats are decorated and
parade out of the harbor on Sunday
morning, gathering outside the
jetties to receive blessings of the
fleet by a local clergyman. A flower
wreath is cast on the waters to
honor those who have lost their
lives in this dangerous occupation.

The festival is packed with music,
food and entertainment.
